Bach Dancing & Dynamite Society (BDDS) presents its 25th annual summer chamber music festival, SILVER JUBILEE, featuring classical masterpieces and the best of contemporary works. A roster of musicians with national and international reputations guarantees fantastic performances. Concerts are spiked with stories about the music, mystery guests, and even door prizes. It's chamber music with a bang! Led by artistic directors and performers Stephanie Jutt, flute, and Jeffrey Sykes, piano.
Shakespeare praised “music with her silver sound” as having magical powers. BDDS is taking this to heart with a silver-themed season of magical masterpieces. Their Stoughton Opera House performance will be a tribute to musical Lone Rangers entitled Hi-Yo, Silver!
Bass-baritone Timothy Jones will sing the Rellstab settings from Schubert’s Schwanengesang, the ultimate songs about Lone Ranger relationships that include a number of prominent references to silver. He’ll also sing Ravel’s Don Quichotte, songs about Spain’s original Lone Ranger. The program concludes with Fauré’s silvery Piano Quartet in C minor, an audience favorite from our second season that features the long-awaited return of violist Sally Chisholm and violinist Stephanie Sant’Ambrogio, joined by new-to-BDDS Kenneth Olsen, associate principal cellist with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
Single general admission tickets are $40. Student tickets are always $5!
