The Stoughton Chamber Music Festival is setting sail for the first time this August (2019). The festival will feature classical musicians from Wisconsin, coming together to prepare and perform meaningful and enjoyable programs for Stoughton and the surrounding communities. Ultimately, the festival is a celebration of summer, the fantastic chamber music repertoire, a community of musicians, and the wonderful people of Stoughton.
For a festival like this, Stoughton is a perfect home, as it boasts the gorgeous Stoughton Opera House and is a rich community of people and small businesses. We aim to respond and collaborate with the community as it is, offering an outreach concert, open rehearsals, and programs that reflect the town. We also hope to grow into a yearly festival, an event that the community can look forward to and call it’s own.
For many classical musicians, summer is a time for fun musical collaborations with friends both new and old. Musicians with meaningful and joyful projects are a force to be reckoned with and a joy to experience. The Stoughton Chamber Music Festival has been created with this in mind and aims to foster meaningful experiences and joyful opportunities for the many fantastic chamber musicians in the area (mixed with some out-of-towners).
