Minnesota roots musician Charlie Parr is dedicated to the folk and blues traditions of an earlier era. The rural surroundings of his blue collar upbringing are reflected in his musical style and simple, honest lifestyle. Parr’s self-taught mix of slide, finger-picking and quasi-frailing technique, together with a voice that's low on drama and high on impact, is something to behold.
Folk singer-songwriter Willy Tea Taylor sings of profound subjects in a simple way. Much of that comes from his upbringing surrounded by rolling hills and horses in Oakdale, California, the small town Taylor calls home to this day. Saving Country Music says of his music, "it is hard to listen to and then say that better songs have ever been written". Combine such lyrics with alluring melodies and a voice that ties them together with emotion as deep as his own roots, and you have Willy Tea Taylor.
